Troubleshooting Guide - Three UK

Please follow the instructions below in case there is a problem:

Activation

  • It may take 15 minutes to 6 hours for Three to activate a sim in peak season

Connect to internet

  • Check that APN is correctly set to three.co.uk
  • Ensure roaming is turned on
  • Remove the sim, then restart the phone. After restart, insert the sim
  • Try the sim in another phone
  • Reset network settings:
    • Android: Open Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings > Reset settings > Restart phone
    • iPhone: Open Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings > Restart phone
  • Connect to a network manually. You can connect to any network while in Europe. (For UK, the sim will connect to the Three network only)
    • Android: Open Settings > Mobile networks > Network operators > Select manually
    • iPhone: Open Settings > Carrier > Turn off Automatic > Select a network manually
    • For example, some networks that you can connect to:
      Country Network
      France Orange
      SFR
      BYTEL or BOUYGTEL
      Free Mobile
      Italy Vodafone
      Wind
      Tim
      3 - Tre
      Spain Vodafone
      Movistar
      Orange España
      Yoigo
      Czech Vodafone
      O2/Telefónica
      T-Mobile

Make calls

For example, to call UK, use one of the following methods

  • Dial +44-xxxx-yyyyyy where 44 is the international country code, or
  • Dial 0044-xxxx-yyyyyy where 00 is the UK exit code
  • Please do not dial 0 if the phone number is prefixed with 0

For example, to call Australia, use one of the following methods. Please note as described in our listing, calling Australia requires top-up credit.

  • Dial +61-x-yyyyyyyy where 61 is the Australian country code, or
  • Dial 0061-x-yyyyyyyy where 00 is the UK exit code
  • Please do not dial 0 if the phone number is prefixed with 0

Check balance and free allowances

  • Call 444 > Press 4, or
  • Call 333 > Press 3, or
  • Call +44-7782-333333 > Press 1 > Enter phone number > Press 3, or
  • Call 0044-7782-333333 > Press 1 > Enter phone number > Press 3
  • Turn WIFI off in your phone, make sure it is connected to the mobile network with Roaming on. Open http://mobile.three.co.uk > Account Balance
