CMLink Docomo Japan Setup

Android setup

1. Please only insert the sim when you arrive in Japan

2. Open Settings > Connections / Network and Internet > Mobile networks > Access Point Names

3. Add or Edit "CMLink" with the following information
    APN: cmlink.com
    Username: cmjp@cmlink.com
    Password: cmlink

    iOS setup

    1. Please only insert the sim when you arrive in Japan

    2. Open Safari, download this file https://www.cmlink.com/jpAdmin/sites/default/files/CMLink.mobileconfig

        Press Allow for any questions

    3. Open Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management

    Restart phone if the "Profiles & Device Management" does not show up.

    4. Then, click Install at the top-right corner. Click Install again when asked.

    5. Done after installation.

    6. After your Japan trip, the profile installed above can be removed:

        Open Settings > General > Profiles (Scroll to bottom) > Find the CMLink Profile > Remove Profile > Delete

    Troubleshooting Guide

    1. For Android, please ensure APN is setup correctly

    2. Manually connect to the NTT Docomo Network

    • Android: Open Settings > Mobile networks > Network operators > Select manually > NTT Docomo Network
    • iPhone: Open Settings > Carrier > Turn off Automatic > Select a network manually > NTT Docomo Network

    3. Try the sim in another phone

    4. Reset network settings:

    • Android: Open Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings > Reset settings > Then restart phone > Add APN again
    • iPhone: Open Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings > Then restart phone > Follow iOS Setup guide again

    5. For a dual-sim phone, please ensure

    • This Japan sim is the only sim in the phone. Disable the other sim slot.
    • The phone is using data from this sim, not the data from another sim slot.
